Eight years after its establishment, Fania Records had accumulated a considerable number of artist catalogs, leading to compilations of hitmakers such as Willie Colon, Larry Harlow, Johnny Pacheco, and Ray Barretto. This LP release of Crime Pays marks the label's first compilation issued in 1972.
This anthology compiles eight important tracks from Willie Colon's four albums, including hit songs like "Ché Ché Colé" and "Juana Peña", featuring Fania legend Héctor Lavoe. All tracks have been mastered from the original tapes and pressed on a 180g heavyweight LP.
