The second album of harpist Brandee Younger, who was nominated for Best Instrumental Composition at the 64th Grammy Awards and made her major debut with the album Somewhere Different from Impulse! in 2021!

The lead single, YOU'RE A GIRL FOR ONE MAN ONLY, has been released, and it is noteworthy that it is an unreleased song composed by Dorothy Ashby, whom Brandee admires. This song was unearthed for the first time through Younger's lifelong commitment to Ashby's legacy. This track, which might have become a jazz standard in the 1960s, has been reborn with a contemporary touch through the cultural synthesizer, a trademark of Makaya's, adding a timeless quality to the piece.

Not only the single but the entire album is inspired by Dorothy Ashby. The producer is drummer and producer Makaya McCraven, who is active not only in jazz but also in the hip-hop scene.
The album features a stellar lineup of collaborators, including hip-hop MC, DJ, and producer Pete Rock; Grammy-nominated rapper, bassist, and vocalist Meshell Ndegeocello; and DJ 9th Wonder, who is also active as a producer.

Regarding this album, Younger says, "Making this album has been a lifelong dream of mine. I have learned so much on the journey to its realization. The finished album truly embodies who I am right now. I feel honored to convey that through songs composed by my hero, Dorothy Ashby."

Through the intersection of Brandee Younger's identity - race, gender, and region - she has a unique experience of engaging with this instrument within the rich creative expressions, culture, and community of Black people. This significant contextual distinction is beautifully evident in all of Younger's music and performances. Like her predecessors such as Ashby, Younger reflects the continuity of Black music and remains committed to it.
