Tinariwen / Aman Iman [2LP] 724-1975

[Description]

Formed in 1979 by Malian refugee Ibrahim Ag Alhabib, internationally acclaimed global act Tinariwen, known for addressing issues such as political awakening, exile, people's oppression, and demands for sovereignty, and with a Grammy Award-winning history, sees their 2006-recorded 3rd album now making its debut on vinyl.

This album, produced by longtime collaborator Justin Adams, prominently features the voice and guitar of founding member Mohammed Ag Itlale.

Masterfully balancing upbeat melodies with poignant vocals, the album is adorned with simple lead riffs, counter-rhythms, rhythmic guitar chopping, handclaps, and layered choruses, earning widespread acclaim. This breakthrough piece led the band to embark on their first-ever world tour.
