Churashima Navigator
Formed in Okinawa in 2011 by DJ SINKICHI and DJ Nu-doh, Churashima Navigator underwent a transformation in 2013 when Okinawan folk singer Misako Ōshiro joined, becoming the current lineup. Their music blends experimental beats influenced by dub, techno, industrial, and jazz with the traditional music of Okinawa where they reside. This unique fusion has garnered high praise as a new form of world music. So far, they have worked on remixes for the Istanbul band "YAKAZA ENSEMBLE" and Fukuoka's "MAHINA APPLE BAND," and released two records under the budryukyu label. In March 2017, they successfully toured Thailand, and in July, they were set to perform at Mongolia's largest outdoor festival, "PLAYTIME2017". A much-awaited 1st album is scheduled for release in the summer of 2017.
Ukishima $treet$
Ukishima $treet$ is the musical collaboration name used by Hikari (BLAST HEAD, O.K Tropical Ghetto) and Ayuka (HiNaLow, AKAZUCHI) when releasing their musical productions. The name comes from the area in Naha formerly known as Ukishima, now called Ukishima Street, where AKAZUCHI REC STUDIO is located, and where the islanders' street groove is born. Under the name Ukishima $treet$, they have produced works such as "tha BOSS - BORDERS mixed by DJ HIKARU" and "O.K Tropical Ghetto dub - For ARIWA - mixed by DJ HIKARU". They are set to release the MIX CD "from Ukishima $treet$" in August.
