TURTLE ISLAND's LP, previously released exclusively on the official website, is now available nationwide in a new format!

This project, initiated by the voice of Personal Energy Kurita, which supports the "Hashi no Shita Power Station" that is a solar system has powered the "Hashi no Shita Music Festival" held since 2012, has led to the creation of this album, LIVE IN TURTLE ISLAND. As the name suggests, the album aims to deliver the essence of "raw" and live energy, capturing the "sounds" that appear right in front of you, embodying Turtle Island's charm. 

The album was recorded and filmed as a live performance without an audience at the Kobe XEBEC HALL, with a gathering of staff closely associated with Turtle Island.
Featuring a total of 15 tracks ranging from new songs like "越境" ("Crossing Borders"), "道道" ("Ways"), and "空空神々(New Ver)" ("Sky Gods (New Ver)"), to representative tracks like "SELF NAVIGATION," "斑デ踊レ" ("Dancing in Spots"), and "宇宙の真ん中" ("In the Center of the Universe"), this recording preserves the raw energy of a live performance while maintaining the high-quality sound of studio recordings. 

The album was mixed by longtime collaborator Naoyuki Uchida, mastered by Mayoshi Takise (M's disk), and cut by Shigeru Takesawa from Nippon Columbia, resulting in a piece that encapsulates Turtle Island's "history" and "present" with masterful craftsmanship.

Released as a limited edition with a luxurious package on the official website in the fall of 2021, this album, with its special specifications including a 180g heavyweight vinyl, a unique jacket with special silver printing, and a 7-inch size 54-page booklet, has been eagerly awaited nationwide. New edit distribution starts on February 22, 2022!


Turtle Island is now a movement and a festival unto itself,
Where local rhythms unleash the soul and transcend all divisions.

About TURTLE ISLAND (亀島楽隊)
Formed in Toyoda City at the end of the 20th century in 1999. Going through numerous member changes, they have incorporated a variety of musical instruments from both Eastern and Western countries. The "GROOVE" of Japan's traditional festival music, "Ozatsuma," Chin Don, and the Groove of Mongoloid in Japan and Asia, mixed freely with punk, rock, reggae sounds, folk songs, and indigenous music from various countries, creating a diverse sound that encompasses the eight million sounds of the Far East.
Exploring and pursuing their music with the beats of Japan and Asia, unique worldviews, and distinctive rhythms, they are active both domestically and internationally and now founders of the "Under the Bridge World Music Festival."
