A short story published in 2013 by Haruki Murakami has been adapted into a film by director Ryusuke Hamaguchi, who is hailed as the most talented young talent in the Japanese film industry. Drive My Car'' has achieved many great　achievements, including winning the Best Screenplay Award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and the Best International Feature Film Award at the 94th Academy Awards. The long-awaited additional press of the analog soundtrack by Eiko Ishibashi, which was sold out as soon as it was released in January of this year, has been decided.

This album is 10 pieces of music that were created through the convergence of two talented artists. The music that was originally written for the movie was newly constructed as a single musical work. Jim O'Rourke, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Marty Holoubek, Toshiaki Sudo, and Atsuko Hatano, who have previously created original works with Ishibashi participated in. Textures of live acoustic sounds, electronic sounds, and the environmental sounds used in the movie fused into it. Mixing and mastering was done by Jim O'Rourke, jacket design was done by Yutaka Kimura (Central67), who has worked on many of Ishibashi's works, and the jacket illustration was drawn by Mayo Akao using the visuals of the movie as a motif. 
It is a masterpiece that shines as well as the movie.
