The masterpiece Sketches of MYAHK, remastered by Makoto Kubota himself, will be released for the first time on vinyl in a special edition!

Makoto Kubota, a producer/musician who has caused numerous whirlwinds in the Japanese rock scene with acts such as Les Rallizes Dénudés, Yuuyake Gakudan, and Sandy & The Sunsets, and who has been at the forefront of the minyo (Japanese folk song) boom in recent years, presents Sketches of MYAHK. This album, released under the project name Blue Asia in 2009 and later becoming the subject of a documentary in 2011, is now eagerly awaited in a 10-inch, 2-disc vinyl format. The album was constructed by field recording ancient songs and folk tunes from Miyako Island and surrounding islands, then overlaying them with remixes and reworks.

Experience the "hippy soul" as described by Makoto Kubota with the wild and bluesy guitar and rhythms in track A2, "Ikemaguchi Setsu". Feel the nostalgia in A3, "Miyako-bushi no Aya-koto", a song from Ikemajima Island that is sung during the island's major festival, "Myaakudutsu". B3, "Kominu Omonu", weaves an exotic melody with the sounds of a shamisen (Japanese traditional stringed instrument) and a raw second-line beat. C1, "Nakutaichi no Migagama," features powerful vocals and wild slide guitar. In the exceptional D1, "Nakayama-B" with a tropical rhythm, there are hints of the psychedelic feel reminiscent of the classic album Machibouke, creating an arrangement that goes beyond the typical bossa nova sound, showing the album's diverse influences.

As a bonus track, "Ikemaguchi Setsu" from the 2009 album IKEMA released on Makoto Kubota's label "ABY RECORD" is also included. This album is a mysterious musical experience that traverses past and present, inviting you into the world of Okinawan music, revitalized as cutting-edge alternative music by Makoto Kubota's craftsmanship. The album comes in a gatefold jacket with an obi strip.
