Combining the hearts of Tam and yours,

Becoming one with the “pan”

(UA/Singer)

DJ/producer JUZU a.k.a. MOOCHY (J.A.K.A.M.), known for his genre-defying original vision and pioneering activities, collaborated with SOFT, a longstanding space jam band based in Kyoto, on this album. Recorded locally in Trinidad Tobago, featuring steel pan performances that add a unique dimension to the music, it was released in 2010 under JUZU a.k.a. MOOCHY's CROSSPOINT label as a picture book with music Soft Meets Pan / Tam ~Message to The Sun~. The work showcases the genre-crossing diversity and high level of craftsmanship, as well as the pure energy of the music itself. DJ/producer Chee Shimizu, who has long desired to see this album released on vinyl, reached out to his old friend JUZU a.k.a. MOOCHY, and now, after 11 years, it is being reissued as a double vinyl LP.

The encounter between SOFT & JUZU a.k.a. MOOCHY and the steel pan resulted in five music journeys connecting the small Caribbean nation with the universe. In recent years, the steel pan has gained popularity in Japan as a healing instrument. The who played this instrument, known as the "last acoustic instrument of the 20th century", is Earl Brooks, one of the musicians who represents Trinidad Tobago, the birthplace of the steel pan. Additionally, Ken "Professor" Filmore, the No. 1 arranger/pan player in the country, contributed to the arrangements. SOFT, known for their robust grooves and use of ethnic instruments like the sitar and shekere, creates a vivid contrast to their sound.

The mixing team includes JUZU a.k.a. MOOCHY, the album's producer, along with Kuniyuki Takahashi, Naoyuki Uchida, Kensuke "JEBSKI" Kobayashi, and Tadashi Kondo a.k.a. KND (SOFT), each showcasing their unique styles. Analog remastering was done by the engineer SINKICHI, known for his work as a DJ and CHURASHIMA NAVIGATOR. The artwork was designed by QOTAROO, featuring drawings by Matsuri Uchida.

At last, we emphasize that this edition is a high-quality domestic pressing, teaming up with TUFF VINYL, a company that has established its own record production line in Japan. It is a triple-name release with JUZU a.k.a. MOOCHY's CROSSPOINT and Chee Shimizu's 17853 Records.

TAM is a gift to all music lovers and the children who will live in the future.
