In a fascinating turn of events, the unreleased recordings of Misako Ōshiro produced by Makoto Kubota are set for release as a 7-inch analog record!
Recorded back in 2007 at the Kadena Studio One in Okinawa, these two tracks have been resurrected after 15 years, emerging as a precious 7-inch analog record. This recording session, orchestrated by Makoto Kubota, was miraculous and presents a rare treat being showcased for the first time domestically.
"Yacchāgwa" and the often-followed "Tumai Takahashi" are featured as individual tracks, a departure from their usual paired performance. This makes for an exceptionally unique recording. Additionally, the coupling track "Uya-nu Kukuru" is a classic by Misako Ōshiro's mentor, the renowned Teihan Chin.
With harmonious collaboration alongside her top disciple, Kana Horinai, Misako Ōshiro delivers a relaxed yet captivatingly rich vocal performance. This release promises to be a gem for fans of Okinawan music and collectors of analog treasures alike!
