Established by Higashi Hiroshi, who formed MIRRORS after the activities of the band "3/3" (the predecessor of FRICTION) in 1978, Godzilla Records was the first independent label in Japan, born from the "Tokyo Rockers" scene that marked the beginning of Japanese punk rock to new wave. Following its establishment, numerous independent labels emerged, creating a major scene, and the legendary Godzilla Records is credited with giving birth to Japan's indie scene as we know it today.

The six 7-inch singles released from '78 to '79, featuring artists from this era, were extremely limited in circulation at the time. As a result, they have been considered rare and difficult to obtain for a long time. Now, after 45 years, the reissue has finally been confirmed, compiled into the complete reissue of the Godzilla Records Box.

The box set includes a booklet filled with valuable unpublished photographs by photographer Yuichi Jibiki, who documented the dawn of Japan's punk scene. Along with liner notes, these photographs allow you to feel the musical background of that era.

Recorded within a short period of less than two years, the intense energy of the pioneering Tokyo underground scene of the time is now resurrected through the record needle, serving as an eternal archival edition.
