Following their miraculous reunion show in 2023, which stirred fans into a frenzy, the KIKUCHI NARUYOSHI DUB SEXTET has once again made waves.

To celebrate the album's long-awaited debut on streaming platforms in April 2024, their critically acclaimed 2008 live recordings are now finally being released on analog vinyl.
The group will perform their final reunion shows this year in Shanghai, Beijing, and Tokyo, closing the curtain on this rare reformation.

About the Project

Active from 2007 to 2010, this one-of-a-kind project pioneered an entirely original format:
a two-horn quintet + one live dub engineer on stage, performing real-time audio manipulation as part of the ensemble.
This six-piece dub jazz hybrid forged a bold new territory, unmatched in the Japanese jazz scene.

About the Album

The tracks on this release are handpicked from two historic Tokyo shows:
July 17 & 18, 2008 at Shibuya DUO Music Exchange, and September 1, 2008 at Akasaka BLITZ.
It captures the electro-acoustic collision of glitchy dub processing and fiery acoustic jazz improvisation — cutting through Tokyo nights with urgency and brilliance.
The record features explosive solo exchanges between Naruyoshi Kikuchi and Shinpei Ruike, live dub effects from the ever-sharpening Pardon Kimura, and a rhythm section driven by Masayasu Tzboguchi, Masato Suzuki, and Tamaya Honda, delivering raw, electrifying momentum.
This is not just a live album — it's a full sensory experience that reconstructs, with astonishing fidelity, the original studio albums (created through post-production editing), in real time and on stage.
